On February 13, the 16th day of the first lunar month, the entire Xunxian Ancient City and Mount Fuqiu were very busy from early morning to night. The highlight of the 17th Central Plains (Hebi) Folk Culture Festival, the Fuqiu Mountain Temple Fair, was held here.

As a traditional folk festival with great influence in the Central Plains in China, the Mount Fuqiu Temple Fair attracted numerous visitors and gathered Shehuo folk performance troupes and art groups from surrounding areas to Xunxian County, a national historical and cultural city.
The Shehuo performances in Xunxian County include lion dancing, dragon dancing, stilts walking, yangko dancing, boat skimming on land, and bamboo horse riding. The performers, dressed in colorful costumes and holding various props, showcased strength and beauty in every movement.
Some troupes excelled in martial arts, displaying fierce punches and agile footwork. Others focused on dance, with graceful movements and lively rhythms. Still others showcased local folk arts through opera, highlighting the rich variety of Xunxian County’s traditional culture.

Xunxian County Shehuo performances were included in the national intangible cultural heritage list in 2008. These performances not only delighted the audience but also help them to deeply experience the charm of China's excellent traditional culture.
In addition to the exciting Shehuo performances, the temple fair also brought together many merchants and stalls, selling a variety of folk handicrafts, such as clay sculptures and sugar figurines, which attracted many visitors to stop and purchase.
In recent years, Xunxian County has deeply explored the essence of its folk culture and hosted a series of unique events. Now, "Coming home to Henan and experiencing the Spring Festival in Xunxian County" has become a shining card for promoting excellent traditional Chinese culture and inheriting classic folk arts.
